About Our Tiny Tots

Thank you for stopping by to see our Tiny Tots!

Page updated September 4, 2008

We specialize in Chinese Imperial size Shih-Tzu, 4 - 9 pounds grown.  Every puppy joins their new family with our 5 year health guarantee, a lifetime of support, lots of love, and much much more. We stand behind our puppies 100%.
Our main goal in raising this wonderful breed is to improve and produce healthy sound quality dogs in a tiny package.

We have selected a few of the very best Imperial Shih-Tzu to become a part of our family. Our girls and boys come from many tiny lines and some have Champions in their pedigree (pedigrees available upon request).

Our Chinese Imperial Shih-Tzu's are family members first and foremost; they are not here "just for breeding".  They live with us and have free run of our home. Our Shih-Tzu's are never caged or crated. We have one extra large crate that is always left open in our dining room. This allows our Tzu's to go in and out at their own leisure when they get in the "den" mood. When they have to be left alone, they are gated off from our living room and have free run of our puppy proof dining room and kitchen. They have many toys to play with and lots of blankets and beds to cuddle and sleep on.

They all sleep in our beds at night....but love to cuddle with us while we take a nap during the day!

Our babies are whelped and raised in our bedroom for the first few weeks. We are always there to help the mother whelp by opening up the sack, cutting the umbilical cord, stimulating the puppy to breathe, and completely drying the puppy. It is important to us to be there to support the mom and help her with her babies and just in case anything goes wrong. We begin socializing our puppies at birth by holding and playing with each puppy several times a day. After the first few weeks we move mom and her babies into our family room. Our moms and babies are kept snug and safe in their "nursery". We use a 4 X 4 x-pen and then very tightly wrap and safety pin blankets around the outside so no one can get out or in. For the bottom we use waterproof pads and then a layer of light blankets. They are changed and washed at least 2 times a day....and then more as the puppies get older. We begin potty training at 7 weeks old.

Our babies are weighed daily for the first two weeks, then weekly from two weeks on. We trim every puppy's nails, paw pads, and around the eyes every week.  We give baths as needed, our puppies usually get their first bath around 5 weeks old.  We begin introducing our puppies to puppy food at this time. We warm goat's milk and soften the hard dog food in the milk, then mash it up and mix a little bit of canned dog food with it. We only use Canidae dog food (dry and canned) for all of our babies. They love it and it is top quality.....our babies deserve only the best in life including what they eat!

At 6 weeks old, our puppies are given their first set of shots by our vet and a full health exam.

Then the fun begins for Maveric and Alex! At that time they are able to help socialize and play with the puppies. They love to lay down and cuddle and let the puppies crawl all over them.

At 7 weeks old, our moms usually begin or have completely weaned their puppies from nursing. The puppies begin eating hard dog food only....and are well on their way to joining their new homes.

At 8 weeks old, our puppies play, eat, and sleep a lot. They are still learning their puppy manners from their siblings, their mom, and us. We will allow some puppies to join their families at this time but most of our puppies wait until they are 9 - 12 weeks old.  At 12 weeks old, all three sets of puppy shots are completed by our vet. This is one less expense for our puppy parents and to ensure the health and protection of our puppies.

Enjoy the finer things in life…..

 Enjoy a Tiny Tot Shih-Tzu.

Where quality is never compromised....

Our puppies are truly a paw above the rest.
